With the passage of Governor Sununu’s Emergency Orders #1 and #19 for all schools to shift to remote learning to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the MC2 Manchester Campus staff has decided to cut their spring break short by one week, to prepare for an effective rollout. MC2 Manchester began remote learning on March 30, 2020.
This website will become our home base for MC2 remote learning. It is divided into 3 sections:
On April 3 2020, the MC2 Charter School Board of Trustees determined “End of Day reflections would qualify as attendance for each student. We do need to expand our parameters for the EOD’s so that a wider range of entry types would qualify, video, a photo of a note, etc. In cases where students have a problem accessing tech, they could call in to talk to an adviser and that would count as attendance.” This means each student will reflect on their day in order for that day to be counted as “present” in our attendance records. Students are encouraged to talk with their advisors about how they plan to complete their EOD reflections.
Additionally the MC2 Board voted to shift the dates of Spring Quarter officially to be from April 6 to June 5, 2020. Our staff worked the week of March 30 to April 3 to account for this one-week change. Doc week was shifted to be June 1-5, 2020.
We have created a new remote learning schedule to provide structure and support while also allowing necessary flexibility for each student. If you need time outside these hours, please talk to your advisor ASAP. Visit Learning Opportunity Information, Spring Quarter, 2020 for information about Advisories and Spring Quarter learning studios
Most group meetings will be over Zoom, a platform available on phones, computers, and iPads. As we become familiar with this tool, feel free to use the many online resources for learning how to use it effectively.
Personal reading during this time can take the place of SSR and help you complete reading logs and CBRPs.You are welcome to read any books you may have on hand at home, or you can use the many online resources available. For example, Audible.com has opened its library to students for free during the pandemic. Newsela and Listenwise are also great reading resources available to all MC2 students.
Using Calendly for scheduling Office Hours with staff: to meet with a staff member individually, click on their link below and set up a meeting. You’ll be able to identify whether you prefer the meeting happens as a video, google hangout, phone call, etc.
We will continue to use Project Foundry and all the same Google tools to keep up with assignments and credit. Studios will use Drive folders and Foundry projects for all work. Check out our Project Foundry videos to learn how to use it, or ask Conor for help!
We fully anticipate being able to host remote gateway exhibitions and graduations, and look forward to helping students navigate their progress through the phases.

Also, don’t forget that CAN DO goals are highly effective, and now even more important. Make those goals Concrete, Actionable, Numeric, and identify what you’ll Do and what are Obstacles.
