To the Making Community Connections Charter School Community:
Last night, April 5, 2021, the MC2 Board of Trustees took up discussion of our school’s financial circumstances. As our school enrollment has declined, we face a mounting challenge to sustain school operations. After extensive analysis, the Board must consider consolidating MC2 into a single campus. Due to a number of factors, the initial proposal made was to close the Manchester campus at the end of this school year, in June 2021.
We invite all members of our community to attend the next virtual meeting of the Board of Trustees on Monday, April 12, at 6:00 PM. The link will be posted to the MC2 website and social media pages. We will present information about the school’s financial circumstances. We also invite our community members to submit public comments in advance by email to Jodi Adams, Chair of the Board of Trustees, at jodicadams@hotmail.com.
MC2 learners, educators, families, and community members have shown deep commitment to our shared undertaking throughout the school’s 10 year history, and immense resilience throughout the last 13 months of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are confident that as we embark upon a challenging new phase in our journey, the community will talk openly, raise thoughtful points, and show respect and mutual support to one another.
The Board of Trustees is committed to transparency, and a process that centers the needs of learners and educators in any potential transition.
Sincerely, | ||
